Ever trusted your “gut feeling” about a situation? Then the Get Curious book and story card set is for you. We break down the brain's natural defense mechanisms (good!) and reveal how these can lead to unfair judgments (not so good).

Rooted in the universal value of fairness, our book tackles assumptions and stereotypes head-on, providing real-world strategies to disrupt auto-pilot thinking and help you take control of your mind—all to live out your commitment to fairness.

The story cards dive into everyday scenarios where snap judgments often occur. Think of it like a “choose your own adventure” for grown-ups. Each card presents a scenario and offers two paths—one where the snap judgment is justified (sometimes it is!) and one where it’s not. Then, we pose thought-provoking questions to help you think through scenarios where a snap judgment isn’t justified, so you can manage similar situations in your own life.

Whether you explore the story cards solo or bring friends and family into the conversation, you'll uncover insights that challenge your thinking and promote fairness in every interaction.

how to use

This package is all about YOU. It includes the Get Curious! book and story cards. While you might be tempted to rush to the story cards, the cards will make much more sense if you read the book first. We know the cards are hard to resist, but do your best!

We recommend that you set aside two hours in a quiet space where you can read the book (45 minutes – 1 hour) and think through the story cards. We also recommend that you include tea, coffee, chocolate, etc.  – something that makes the time special and extra cozy.

Once you are done, set a time in your calendar to come back to the book and story cards three months later. When you do, think about what situations you’ve been in and what you have noticed. Continue repeating this process until it is not bringing new insights.

Consider sharing your book and story cards with others in your household. If you do that, you can have a family or group discussion every three months rather than just reflecting on your own.

what other people say about get curious:

"I believe it was well thought out. A good mix of science and situation. But not too long to scare away the curious or busy. It was fun for me to read the book and situation cards."
